Freestyle and Street Dancing

Freestyle

Freestyle dancing is a very artistic style of dance, which co-ordinates accentuated body movements together with a number of arm, head + hand movements. This allows the individual dancer freedom to express themselves. Freestyle dance is an extremely high energy style of dance, and involves much travelling round the room and also movements performed on the spot.

Freestyle Dance progresses to competitions if the individual dancer is interested, allowing each dancer to wear bright glitzy costumes and much make-up. This is an area that our school specialises in. We have many champion dancers within our group bringing home trophies every week for the top spot!

Street

Hip hop became extremely popular in the early 1990's it followed on from the breaking and locking dance style which was huge in the late 80's. Hip Hop went onto what is now known as 'Street Dance'. This was bought into the dance world in 1996 to cover music trend which was around at the time.

Street dance is the most popular dance style of this time. It covers all moves from different styles of hip hop, breaking, looking, street jazz and commercial jazz.

Street Dance International is the association which was founded to allow the individual dancer to take part in street competitions all across the country, so if that is what you are looking for then look no further as we cater for all these needs.
